Fotobiosfera (Photo-biosphere)

FIAES promotes art as a tool for environmental education, as well as developing various communications projects in different areas to promote and transmit an environmental message.

Photo-biosphere is an open collective of professional Salvadoran photographers whose mission lies in respect for nature and passion for photography. The main goals are creation and dissemination of images of humans and nature.

The main goals are to develop different photography projects to increase environmental culture and love of photography. Through the photographic lens, the hope is to denounce and raise awareness about serious problems, while also creating awareness about efforts to protect and conserve our biosphere, our lives. Ernesto Canossa

Second generation photographer with more than 25 years of professional experience as in commercial photography. Mr. Canossa’s portfolio reflects his unique personal vision with meticulously detailed focus in each image of his creation. His work is governed by a quote from the famous photographer Henri Cartier Bresson: To photograph: it is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart.”

Leyla Pineda

Communicator and awardee of the Fourth National Competiton of Journalism and Ensayo “Valuing the work of women as mothers and their contribution to the Salvadoran economy, ORMUSA-OXFAM CANADA, May 2008. Experiencied communicator and photogrpher of socil events. Owner of Foto Fiesta Studio.

Joshua Cordero

Journalist forming part of the multimedia production team of RGB multimedia. 2° place in the Third National Competition, “Valoring Our Elders Rights” organized by the Secretary of Social Inclusion. Currently works in the area of communications of FUSADES and is experience in organizational and project photography.

Maria Teresa Díaz Colocho

Graduated with an undergraduate degree in Film and Television from Boston University and a master’s degree in Photography from the New England School of Photography, Boston. She has participated in photographic exhibits in El Salvador and other world locations such as Munich, Milan, Washington, Los Ángeles, Guatemala, Egipto, etc.. Winner of the “Princess of Cuscatlan” award by the Association of Artists of El Salvador.

Luis Tobar

System Engineer with a master’s degree in Business Administration. Professor at the University of El Salvador, curator of museum collections, researcher of new techniques. Mr. Tobar has showed his work in 22 exhibits in Europe, Central and South America, the Carribean and El Salvador. He is a two time winner of the Phillip Morris Palmares Prize and two exhibits with Fundación Paiz.

Manuel Huezo

System engineer who began a career in photography in the first WW Photowalk in 2008. His most celbrated series of photographs are“San Salvador Sky” and “Faces of My Town”. The latter won acclaim as the photograph generating most commentaries in the Sony World Photography Awards 2012. Founder of the photography group, Flickr El Salvador.

Mauricio Martinez

Journalist by profession and photographer by lifestyle since 1995, Mr. Martinez has worked for the following periodicals: Co-Latino, Diario El Mundo and EL Diario de Hoy and is the official photographer of the first.. Founder of the Communication Agency Ideas Buró. Photography professor and freelance photographer for the Weekly Magazine-Columbia, UNDP and Sab-miller-ILC.

Silvia Esquivel

Graphic Designer with over 25 years of experience in portrait and social photography. Ms. Esquivel de Manga has taught photography in international congresses and in the universities of El Salvador. She is the owner of Sylvia Esquivel Photo Studio.

Salvador Meléndez

Journalist and recognized print media photographer. Awards: Second place, photographic competition “Breast Feeding” Panamerican Health Organization (OPS), first place in photography in the FONAVIPO Popular Home Competiition in July 2005, Best Human Development Photography awarded by the UNDP in November 2003.

David Alfaro

Documentary photographer, and underwater. Student of Oceanography and marine resources in the University autonomous of Santo Domingo, Rep. Dominican. Experience as a cameraman underwater for tv programs and also photography documentary and advertising to different international organizations.
